It was set up with the motto to: use knowledge to help people accomplish personal financial goals rather than push pre-determined corporate profit lines. The idea came from some increasingly mounting gaps in the industry:

• Common targets set by employers forced a “sell or be damned” culture which put selling before client needs
• Growth was the only mantra, resulting in each advisor servicing so many clients that individual attention suffered.
• Communication with clients was often couched in technical jargon which most clients did not understand
